:: Submission guidelines


In the name of Allah

 

Introduction
Human civilization has been significantly affected since the conveyance of prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and introduction of Islam as a religion of love, culture and creativity. In fact, the Islamic civilization portrayed a new world enclosed with wisdom, revelation and art in which the latest is well depicted in Islamic culture and lifestyle. Calligraphy, illumination, architects and miniature are some well-known examples from the divine Islamic arts that dazzles the eyes from the west to the far east of the world. Besides, humanity owes to the spiritual literatures and poems written by Islamic writers and poets, such as Rumi and Hafez, that root in the holy book of Quran and the prophet sayings. Moreover, the Islamic art is now experience a new era through modern arts, including graphics, digital art and photography in which are collected in the present congress to portray the beauties of Muhammed (PBUH) – The Prophet of Mercy.


General conditions of the Congress

The congress includes the following section and sub-sections:

Literary: Poetry, novel, short story, Short short story, literary texts (letter or diary).

Art: Calligraphy, poster, digital art, typography, painting, Tazhib, Tasheir, photography, short film, and clip.

 

Terms and conditions

  • Filling of the form and making a submission will imply your agreement with all the congress terms and conditions.
  • Please avoid submission of any artwork previously awarded in other events
  • You are allowed to participate in several sections with no limitation on the number of submissions.
  • Everyone are welcome to attend with no restriction on the age, gender or geographic location.
  • It is compulsory to register and submit through official website of the congress (www.wcam.ir).
  • Participants will hold the ownership of what they present to the congress and will be responsible for any potential legal consequences
  • Secretariat of the congress holds the right to use the submitted art/literary work with respect to their intellectual property
  • Artworks selected to the final stage of the congress will be provided with certificate of participation.
  • Any unexpected situation will be resolved and managed by secretary of the congress.

 

Submission guidelines for literary section

 

Poem

  • There are no limitation on the template or number of verses.
  • Multilanguage poems will be accepted and specifically considered.
  • Poems must have a short title.
  • Submissions must be in DOC format and zipped. Please avoid submitting in PDF format.

 

Fiction
 

Novel

  • Title is compulsory.
  • Submissions must be in DOC format and zipped. Please avoid submitting in PDF format.
 

Short story

  • Title is compulsory.
  • Submissions must be in DOC format and zipped. Please avoid submitting in PDF format.
     

Minimal story

  • Maximum of one page (A4 size), font 14 for each literary text.
  • Title is compulsory.
  • Submissions must be in DOC format and zipped. Please avoid submitting in PDF format.

 

Literary prose

  • Maximum two A4-size pages.
  • Title is compulsory.
  • Submissions must be in DOC format and zipped. Please avoid submitting in PDF format.

 

Submission guidelines for Art section

 

Calligraphy

  • The artwork must be prepared using any of the Nastaliq, Broken-Nastaliq, Naskh or Sols methods.
  • Each participant is allowed to attend in one of the mentioned fields
  • Submitted artwork must be aligned with the congress themes or point to a verse, hadith or poem that describes Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
  • The artwork must be 35*50, 70*50 or 70*100 cm in size (including the margins) in either landscape or portrait.
  • An initial review will be taken place based on the artwork’s image submitted to the congress and eventually selected artworks will be notified to have the original document presented for the final review and exhibition.
  • A JPEG image of maximum 10 MB in a good quality must be submitted from the artwork.
  • Upon the request of Secretariat of the Congress, original documents must be shipped without any framework. Eventually, they will be returned to the owners at the end of exhibition.
  • Folded or framed artworks are not acceptable
  • Secretariat of the Congress will not be responsible about the safety of posted items.
  • Priority will be given to the artworks with handmade paper, illumination, segmentation, mount and maximum two years of production date.
  • In case needed, online validation workshops will be organized for selected artworks during the congress and failing to attend implies cancelation of your registration.

 

Graphic arts
 

Poster

  • It must be prepared in 300 dpi, JPG, RGB color, 50*70 cm in size and Portrait format.
  • Title is compulsory.
  • It must represent one of the congress main themes.
  • There are no limitations on the language and design technique.
  • The artwork must be submitted in maximum 10 MB of size.
  • The artwork can be considered to be submitted for Digital Art and Motion-Graphic as well.
 

Typography

  • Title is compulsory
  • There are no limitations on design technique
  • It must represent one of the congress main themes
  • The artwork must be aligned with one of the suggested slogans
  • In case of choosing a picture, it must be dominantly presenting words rather than an image.
  • Artworks can be designed as poster, city symbols, placards, bridge, title of a front matter, design f wearing and etc.
  • The poster must be between 50 and 70 cm in size.
  • Artworks can be either colorful of black and white
  • Artworks must be submitted in JPEG format, 300 DPI, RGB and maximum 10 MB in size
  • The artwork can be considered to be submitted for Digital Art and Motion-Graphic as well
  • Suggested slogans are:
    • Mohammad (PBUH), the Prophet of Mercy
    • The last prophet; mirror of life in the existence
    • Mohammad (PBUH); A moral teacher
    • A nation; A prophet
    • Mohammad (PBUH); the messenger of rationality and moderation

 

Digital art

  • Artworks can be prepared in a range of templates including animation, video art, motion graphic, special audio and visual effects and digital painting.
  • There are no limitation on the chosen software.
  • It must represent one of the congress main themes.
  • Images must be submitted in good quality JPEG format, 300 DPI, RGB and maximum 10 MB in size.
  • Videos must be in MP4 format, maximum 15 minutes, HD (1080*1920) and maximum 100 MB in size.
  • Audio files must be prepared in MP3 format.

 

Painting

  • It must represent one of the congress main themes or one of the prophet moral advices. Please visit the congress website (www.wcam.ir) for further information.
  • Title is compulsory.
  • There are no limitation on the chosen technique.
  • The artwork must be at least 50*70 cm in size.
  • Images must be submitted in good quality JPEG format, 300 DPI, RGB and maximum 10 MB in size.
  • Upon the request of Secretariat of the Congress, original documents must be shipped. Eventually, they will be returned to the owners at the end of exhibition.
  • Secretariat of the Congress will not be responsible about the safety of posted items.
 
Tazhib and Tasheir
  • Title is compulsory.
  • There are no limitation on the chosen technique.
  • The artwork must be at least 35*50 cm in size.
  • Images must be submitted in good quality JPEG format, 300 DPI, RGB and maximum 10 MB in size.
  • Upon the request of Secretariat of the Congress, original documents must be shipped. Eventually, they will be returned to the owners at the end of exhibition.
  • Secretariat of the Congress will not be responsible about the safety of posted items.


Visual arts

 

Photography

  • The photo must represent one of the congress main themes or one of the prophet moral advices. Please visit the congress website (www.wcam.ir) for further information.
  • Up to seven submissions (as a single image or a collection) is allowed per participant.
  • Photos can be prepared as colorful or monochrome and must be submitted in JPEG and RGB in at least 1500 pixels of length. Dpi must be greater than 72 pixel and the quality should not be less than 10. Maximum allowed file size is 10 MB.
  • RAW files of artworks selected at the initial review process must be provided for exhibition and printing in the congress booklet.
  • Cropping and light/color corrections are allowed up to point that do not change the originality of the photo.
  • No signature, date, note, watermark, logo or any other symbol are not allowed to be marked on the photo.

 

Short film

  • Short film must represent one of the congress main themes or one of the prophet moral advices. Please visit the congress website (www.wcam.ir) for further information.
  • It should be in MP4 format, HD (1080*1920) between 250 and 1000 MB, and maximum 30 minutes.
  • One submission is allowed per participant.

 

Clip

  • It must represent one of the congress main themes or one of the prophet moral advices. Please visit the congress website (www.wcam.ir) for further information.
  • It should be in MP4 format, HD (1080*1920) between 50 and 100 MB, and maximum 5 minutes.
  • Up to three submissions is allowed per participant.
